E.J. Clark

The Kentucky Winner's Circle was founded by E. J. Clark back in 1997 as a one hour weekly horse racing show originally heard on, WTMT-AM 620. The station changed formats from Louisville's oldest Country Music format to an all-sports station. Clark, a US Air Force veteran who returned in 1971 to his native state of Kentucky, worked in radio full time for over 30 years. Over those 30 plus years E.J. (Edward James) worked as a DJ, a Country station Music and Program Director, Mobile DJ owner, Announcer for "Dawn at the Downs" at Churchill Downs for Kentucky Derby and Breeder's Cup Week.

Lane Gold

Lane's participation on the show began as a part-time member while working on the Churchill Downs Publicity staff in 2001. The New York City native become the full-time co-host in 2003 and has become an integral member of the show, Lane developed his love of Thoroughbred racing from his father, Jack, who took him to Aqueduct and Belmont Park as child. Jack also taught Lane how to handicap horses and this skill has made earned him the respect of many in the industry and especially the media.

Lane is the Handicapper on the show. After high school, Lane moved to Louisville to attended the University of Louisville for its Equine Administration degree program.The move to the Derby City as put Lane in close proximity to Churchill Downs and the "Run for the Roses." Lane covers other major sporting events in an official publicity capacity including the last eight Breeders' Cups, the NCAA Final Four, and PGA Championship.
